The Story of Lara's House
November 2008: Purchase of 2.5 acres and home in Mesa, Arizona by Lara's parents
January 2009: Architectural plans developed to add almost 2000sf to existing home, including a bedroom wing, "spa" room, and family room
April 2009: Begin construction:
ground clearing, grading, foundation dig
May/June
Framing, roof, electrical,
windows, insulation
September 2009: Complete construction
October/November 2009: Furnishing, Landscape and finishing touches

November 22, 2009: Grand Opening Celebration 1 - 6pm
January, 2010: Full-time residency available
April 2013: Additional home and 2 acres purchased for future development and services
Current status (September 2018): 4 full time residents at Lara's House; plans underway to develop a second home to provide up to 6 more residents of varying ages and needs (disability and elder care)
